‘Earthquake Weather’ is the new single from London-born singer-songwriter, fiske. The track was recorded at home during lockdown by fiske and her producer husband Tim Bran with additional guitar provided by Charlotte Hatherley (Ash, KT Tunstall).

“I wrote ‘Earthquake Weather’ while I was living in San Francisco”, says fiske. “I was aware of the city having this subtle constant humming sound as all the electric cabling is above ground due to the possibility of earthquakes. At the time, the relationship I was in was falling apart, and I had this sense that everything was about to crack open both figuratively and literally, me and the earth around me. The song has two main call and response vocal parts which represent the questioning internal dialogue I was having with myself daily at the time.”

Sonically, Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross is cited as an influence with Charlotte Hatherley providing some Peter Green style guitar. The track centres around fiske’s strong, warm, vocals which are perfectly underpinned by producer Tim Bran’s tasteful electric piano and pedal steel, to create a classic alt/folk offering.

Earthquake Weather is the latest single taken from artist fiske’s upcoming album You Made an Ocean of Me which will be released on July 22nd 2022.
